The loved ones of teenagers missing after a devastating inferno at a bar in a Swiss winter destination are enduring an excruciating period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for information about their children publicly.

The inferno engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Verified video depict the ceiling catching alight as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have indicated that it could take considerable time to formally name the victims of the fire, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and injured another over a hundred. Officials stated on Friday that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process ongoing to name the final individuals.

In the interim, families and friends have been using social media to appeal for information about their missing relatives who were in attendance that night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Missing

The fate of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are not yet determined, according to an public plea from his family.

The resident of Lutry near the city, told a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to see if he was in the hospital, while his father did the same in Bern, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in critical condition. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She added that some of his friends had been found with injuries covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced a terrifying ordeal."

The Italy's foreign ministry has confirmed that six of its citizens have not been located.

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to media.
