An American-Palestinian youth who spent a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest last February throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital right after being freed, family members reported.

They said he is pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

Through an official statement, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Currently, we are focused on providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare he requires following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."

The state department said it would continue to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of US citizens"," the department emphasized.

A group of American legislators had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action to secure his release.

Mohammed's parent, with four children who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, had earlier stated his son only confessed regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen or communicated with his son following the detention, and only heard what had happened to him via legal paperwork.

The teenager remained absent formal charges in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

It is also home to grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced of serious terrorism offences and homicide.

An estimated several hundred young Palestinian detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, per correctional service statistics.

Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, and international organizations, report instances of abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting demanding accountability for their family member family member Sayfollah.

The dual national youth per medical officials was beaten to death by Israeli settlers during a confrontation last July.

At the time, military authorities reported authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.

Mohammed and Sayfollah had worked together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.

"We expect United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," family representatives emphasized.
