Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
